National Indian Programs Training Center (NIPTC)In spring 2006, Indian Affairs opened NIPTC in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The facility — dedicated to former Secretary of the Interior Manuel Lujan, Jr. — is an education center for DOI Indian Affairs programs such as trust, social services, law enforcement and education. NIPTC provides state-of-the-art training to individuals committed to fulfilling the government's responsibilities to Indian country. Trust related classes include a series of financial trust management courses sponsored by OST and Cannon Financial Institute, as well as training for TAAMS. Training conducted by the Cannon Financial Institute can lead to certification in fiduciary management. Hundreds of DOI employees have completed this fiduciary trust training. |
