GROSS DOMESTIC PRODUCT (GDP) ESTIMATED FOR THE U.S. TERRITORIES OF AMERICAN SAMOA, GUAM, THE NORTHERN MARIANA ISLANDS AND THE U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Department of the Interior’s Office of Insular Affairs (OIA) and the Department of Commerce’s Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) have collaborated to collect for the first time ever gross domestic product (GDP) estimates for the U.S. Territories of American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands and the U.S. Virgin Islands.  Figures for 2008 and 2009 were released in the summer of 2011, preceded by initial GDP estimates for 2002 - 2007 which were released in May of 2010.
