Secretary Salazar to Celebrate Launch of Los Angeles River Watershed Project

WASHINGTON, DC - Tomorrow, Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar will join Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa to celebrate the selection of the Los Angeles River Watershed as a priority project under the Urban Waters Federal Partnership (UWFP). Spearheaded by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of the Interior along with 9 additional federal agencies, UWFP aims to stimulate regional and local economies, create local jobs, improve quality of life, and protect Americans’ health by revitalizing urban waterways in under-served communities across the country.
