Secretarial Commission on Indian Trust Administration and Reform
As part of President Obama's commitment to fulfilling this nation's trust responsibilities to Native Americans, Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar today named five prominent American Indians to a commission that will undertake a forward-looking, comprehensive evaluation of Interior's trust management of nearly $4 billion in Native American trust funds.

Providing Comments to the Commission
The Commission recognizes that there are many important issues related to trust administration and management that impact tribes, individual Indians and tribal organizations.
The Commission welcomes your ideas, recommendations and possible solutions for trust management and administration to improve the delivery of trust services to Indian Country. To assist the Commission in its work, in addition to describing any problem or issue, we ask for your assistance by focusing your comments in the form of recommendations and solutions to improve Department's implementation of the Federal trust responsibilities.

The Office of the Secretary is announcing the Secretarial Commission on Indian Trust Administration and Reform will hold a public meeting on June 7, 2013. The commission's public meeting will begin at 8:00 am and end at 12 pm. The management consultant will be at the public meeting and will be available to speak with if you wish to provide input and recommendations. The Commission encourages individuals to take the opportunity to provide Grant Thornton with your perspective on how the trust administration system currently operates. The public meeting will be held at the Courtyard by Marriott Downtown Oklahoma City, Two West Reno, Oklahoma City, OK 73102. We encourage you to RSVP to trustcommission@ios.doi.gov by June 3, 2013.
